Forklift Truck training Liverpool and a shock find!

Forklift Truck Training in Liverpool and shock finding!

While carrying out  Forklift Truck training Liverpool bound I was surprised at a story which I was reading on my break.  Do you know the amount of sugar you consume was the headline? Research on this subject shows that while many thought there was more sugar in fizzy drinks, they were took back at the levels in smoothies and fruit juices.  The findings were that soft drinks were making up a large per cent of their calorie intake. The amount of sugar in pure apple juice, an energy drink, and a smoothie drink were a lot higher than they thought.

Many don’t take the calorie content of their soft drinks when planning their diet so end up with more than they think. The research warned that drinking too many soft drinks was causing obesity. They found it was a major risk factor for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.  If you are watching  your weight the advice is “replace soft drinks with water or diet drinks”. Natural sugars in fruit, vegetables and whole grains can still be eaten and are part of a healthy diet.

A survey shows that the average American eats around 22.2 teaspoons of added sugar every day. I don’t know if anybody watched Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution in America, trying to abolish flavoured milks in their schools because of such high sugar content.  On the programme he showed us how much sugar was found in  their schools each week…. 57 tonnes!!

He filled a bus with the 57 tonnes  of sugar. It was unreal.

I suppose it’s just about being sensible and doing things in moderation. I did have a chocolate bar, in the car, to eat after I had finished the forklift truck training Liverpool…….. I might just stick with my apple!!
