Prince dead at 57

Prince.. The man, the myth, the legend dies aged 57 at his compound in Minnesota. He left fans worried on 15th April after an emergency landing in Illinois and it is not yet clear if his death is due to his ongoing bout of flu or another health problem.

Prince’s body was discovered at his home in Minnesota earlier today but it wasn’t announced until much later that the body found was that of Prince himself as it was originally reported that an unidentified person was found there.

Prince, an American singer, songwriter and actor became huge in the 1980s with the film Purple Rain in which he starred and wrote the soundtrack. His best known hits include Kiss and When Doves Cry. He was a prominent figure in the charts for three decades and was recently working on a new album.

His perfect blend of funk, rock’n’roll, soul and pop will be sorely missed in the music world and it was this that made him one of the best selling artists of our time.
